Aquiculture
Bijupirá Brasil Project

This market is raising 10% per year since 1990 and, as a tendency, in a
decade the production of breeding water organisms is going to exceed
the fishing products production. Due to the quality of the meat Bijupirá
is highlighted by its fast growth and high acceptance.

In 2005, many relevant actions took place in order to implement TWB’s
Bijupirá Brasil Project. This pioneer action creates a new frontier in Brazilian
aquiculture on breeding this species.

In accordance with environmental law demands the project has its first
experimental net-tank installed and physic tests performed.

At the Experimental Lab in Cananéia, state of São Paulo, the technical
team training and qualification activities have begun, which will make
possible the first stocks for fattening in 2006.

A partnership with the Miami University for technology transferring of bijupirá
breeding development cycle guaranteed to TWB the leading position on
activities with this fish in Brazilian waters.

Another important deal was made with Ilha Comprida City Hall, in the state of
São Paulo, where TWB is going to technically cooperate to build up an aquiculture
lab in the city.
